Opro's Power Cage
The Power-Fit is a unique combination of the Power-Fit mouthguard with its patented wings and custom shell with the patented Power-Cage.
The cage consists of an outer and an inner tray, which fit into each other, and it is in this tray system that the mouthguard is placed. When the wearer bites into the mouthguard, the Power-Cage compresses it onto the teeth, resulting in a perfectly molded mouthguard that fits snugly over the teeth and soft tissue, ensuring optimal fit and retention.
Molding a Self-Fit mouthguard is not always easy - you are handling a soft, rubber-like material that, while very protective when cooled, is vulnerable when softened, and that's where the Power-Cage comes in. Common problems when molding a Self-Fit mouthguard involve aligning the mouthguard in the center of the mouth, difficulty applying even pressure around the teeth and gums during the molding process, and not biting through the back of the mouthguard during placement.
Using the Power-Cage eliminates all of these problems by allowing the consumer to:
Position the mouthguard accurately and centrally over the teeth during the casting process.
Transmit a more powerful bite force using the Power-Cage, which allows for a highly retentive and tight fit, rather than pressing on the mouthguard with the fingers alone.
Achieve uniform compression across the entire surface of the mouthguard for an extremely consistent fit.
